American Idol Season 9

it’s been over two weeks since my last post.. i know. i’ve just been busy with finals and all that school stuff. (yeah right! :acting innocent: )

so, everybody seems to have a formspring account already and at first i didn’t really plan on having one.. but since i was bored today, i created an account too! :bored1: you can follow me if you want and just ask me anything! hehe.. :winkheart:
oh! and while you’re at it, you can also add me as a friend on my other accounts! links are on the sidebar…

do you guys watch American Idol? :^^,(big): i’m just a fan of the show and all i can say is that “BRING ALEX LAMBERT BACK!” :crying(small): hehe.. i just love him! he should have lasted longer… he has a really distinct voice and i just love his mullet! :giggle: the results for the top12 were really shocking. a lot of great talent went home that night(including Lilly Scott :shocked(small): ) because i dunno, maybe people thought they were safe already? so they didn’t put much effort in voting for them. instead those teen contestants made it to the big stage! uuuggh! i just really think the people who got eliminated that night deserved the spot better than some of the top12. :crying my eyes out:
there’s this poll on American Idol’s homepage on who people think left Idol too soon. and as expected, Alex is leading the poll by a landslide. but i personally think all four of them left Idol too soon. ( :sniff sniff: but mostly Lilly and Alex)

anyway, out of the top10 left (Paige Miles got eliminated this week, it’s about time! :annoyed: ), who do you think will make it all the way through and be the next American Idol? as for me, i really am a big fan of Crystal Bowersox! :hypnotized2: she’s my bet for this season. i love her sound, her style and she’s really talented!
some people are also rooting for Siobhan but i just don’t like her that much. (no offence to her fans :peace: ) i think that she tries a little too hard to do an extraordinary performance and it’s too much for me. but that’s just my personal opinion. and her screaming is getting old and kind of overdone. :feeling beat up: she was praised because of that high note she did on the top12 girls performance and since then, she screams at every end of her performances. it’s like, ooookaay.. we get it, you can reach those high notes. :boxing: i have a feeling these two are gonna go head-to-head on the finals. but it’s still too soon to tell. things can change and other people can still improve.

i’m also loving Ellen Degeneres as the new judge! i know she doesn’t have a professional background in music or whatever, but she does give some great comments with a hint of humor! :LOL2: it’s like she represents the people of America as fans and as music lovers. it makes the show more fun to watch!!
what do you think of the Season so far? any favorites? anyone you don’t like? who do you think can actually win this?

alice in wonderland through the looking glass

Filed under: interests, movies — Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , — jessa @ 1:48 am

after i saw the movie “Alice in Wonderland” in 3D :sunglasses(small): , i wanted to make a review on it! but then i realized i haven’t read the books so i might just sound stupid (especially to the fans of Alice) :nervous(small): ‘coz i have no idea what i’m blabbing about… but coming from just a regular curious moviegoer, i really enjoyed the film! :thumbs up:

i’ve been looking forward to this movie ever since i saw the teaser trailer. and knowing that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp will collaborate again got me even more excited! so i made sure i won’t miss it.

aside from Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter, other familiar faces (and voices) can be seen (or heard :^^,(small): ).

Helena Bonham Carter plays the Red Queen. she was exceptional as Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter :clap clap: and was also seen in Sweeney Todd as Mrs. Lovett; and as expected, did another great performance as the villain in this film.

the White Queen was played by Anne Hathaway, and to tell you honestly, i didn’t really get her acting. i was confused if it was meant to be funny or what. :whatever: but i still love her nevertheless. she’s a great actress… just not so much in this movie.

and of course, :hmmm1: who wouldn’t be able to recognize Professor Snape’s voice? this time, as a Blue Caterpillar. i just love that unique tone that Alan Rickman has! he also plays Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd.

joining in the cast of characters are Crispin Glover (George McFly from Back to the Future and the “thin man” from Charlie’s Angels) as the Knave of Hearts and Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew from Harry Potter; Nathaniel from Enchanted and Beadle Bamford from Sweeney Todd) as Bayard the talking dog.

excellent line up, i must say… and Mia Wasikowska make a wonderful and authentic Alice!

the movie was really entertaining. great acting from great actors. i love the visuals, the make up and the wardrobe! (especially Alice’s red dress)

CLICK HERE for an awesome review by Angela Davis! i totally agree with pretty much everything she said. (but on those parts where she talks about the books, i can neither agree nor disagree. haven’t read them :blushing: ) after reading her review, it made me wanna buy those books!
