how jeSsAstEr.net came to be…

on january 12, 2009 after my class, (i only had class until 12:30pm and my friends had more than 4hours break at that time)
my friends and i were spending our time at the internet cafe and that was when i purchased jeSsAstEr.net from name.com. (mikyu helped me of course) then i purchased a hosting package from kinohost.net. (all purchases care of mikyu who loaned some numbers on my paypal because i didn’t have money yet, so thank you so much!!!) after exactly one month (february 12, 2009), i finally decided to officially open my blog!

why jeSsAstEr.net?

i’ve always envied j.k. rowling’s talent for wordplay (from “hogwarts” to “diagon alley” to “portkey”… it’s just amazing), and i wanted my domain to be creative too, but at the same time personal. so i started to mix and match with my name.
for a while, i was so sure what domain i was gonna buy. i wanted SO BAD to buy row1.net (my second name is roanne, and when i was in elementary school, my classmates used to tease me when our teacher would say “ok, row 1, stand up!” or “row 1, collect the papers” and they would all look at me and say “ikaw daw! roanne daw!” LOLz! ) i’ve thought about it for a long time but haven’t really thought of checking if it was already taken or what. so when i finally decided to buy it, TADA! it said that the domain was already taken.. so yah, i didn’t have any alternatives at the time, so i postponed buying the domain.
next, i wanted to use teamj (because in the “twilight” saga, i’m on team jacob!!! and since my name starts with a “j” so why not?) but unfortunately, that domain was already taken too. (lucky me! )
then one night, i came up with lots of alternative names and one of them was jeSsAstEr.net. i asked my friends and my sister for their votes and they seem to like jeSsAstEr the best. and no doubt, i really wanted a .net domain because most fansites i’ve seen use it… and for me it looks official but not too official like .com and i like it. and ironically, i often get into trouble, so jeSsAstEr kinda suites me well.

so that’s when i finally decided to buy jeSsAstEr.net… and the rest is history!
