The Mandaue Business Movement (MBM), formerly known as Mandaue Business Month, will hold the Mandaue Run for Life 2010 this coming August 1, 2010.

The marathon signals the start of the MBM 2010 events. This will be participated in by various civic and business organizations in Mandaue and Cebu. Proceeds of the marathon will be allocated for the benefit of MCCI’s medical mission and the Dasig Kabataan Foundation.

it’s official! i am now a part of the Cebu Bloggers Society!!! yippee!

my friends Mikyu and Aimee have been members for almost two years now. it was actually them who introduced me to the group and i had no intentions of applying until recently.

i didn’t really consider myself as “CBS material”. i mean… i’m still just a newbie and i blog for fun. i don’t even make money out of it! i know nothing about SEO and tweaking codes still drives me mad! tsk! but i’m willing to learn, of course. and now that i’ll be constantly surrounded by all these “big time bloggers”, i’m keeping my fingers crossed that their skills will somehow rub off on me. hihihi

some of the CBS members… i already know, since i’ve covered a couple of events with them. they’re really friendly and i’m looking forward to meeting all the rest.

to the Cebu Bloggers Society, thank you so much for welcoming me, along with the other new members! it’s such an honor to be part of this society. i hope i can contribute to the best of my abilities and help “Promote Cebu Through Blogs”. aja!

Due to unexpected circumstances , I was one of the bloggers who were invited to the said event and I was glad I came. Watching the students perform was really fun! especially those little kids with their ballet dance.

Created just this summer, Spotlight Dance Company is the first to offer syllabus-based dance lessons here in Cebu. It is located at 18 Mt. Apo St., Singson Village, Mandaue City, Cebu 6014.

Yesterday (April 11, 2010) at the SM City Cebu Northwing Open Parking area, was the PLDT MyDSL Override Car Drifting Exhibition; and I was lucky enough to be invited to the event (as media? ). I wasn’t even prepared when i got there! Didn’t have any camera with me…just my trusty cellphone. It was my first time to actually witness a car drifting exhibition in person. (I just watch this on RCTV)

4-time drift champ, ALEX PEREZ, and the youngest drifting champ, GIO RODRIGUEZ, showed off their mad skills with some cool stunts. They even let some random people from the audience ride the passenger seats as they drift around the area! Such a shame we weren’t one of those lucky people. Other guests include celebrity Isabel Oli and lady drifter Pia Boren.

RYAN AGONCILLO, who is a drifting enthusiast himself, also showed up and gave us a taste of what he’s got on the sport. Like Alex and Gio, he invited some people from the audience to ride on the passenger and back seats while drifting. (again, how I wish I was one of them)

(like I said, I didn’t really come prepared whatsoever) Since I only used my phone, the quality is err not so good, so I apologize for that. I’ll just write down what I was able to understand. It’s kind of “fill in the blanks”. haha!! Feel free to correct me. I can barely hear him myself.

We have drifting _____. We used to race motorcycles back in 2001 (referring to Alex Perez). The time when Alex was not involved in drifting yet, he was still racing _____. On the side, he was racing motorcycles with us. We were [teenagers 2001] ? in a different team, motorcycles. And now _____ introduced me to drifting. He’s been _____ past few years and so far, it’s been good. How do I rate myself? I’m just a beginner.

Judy Ann and I, actually, we went to drift school together _____ with Alex. She learned faster than I did. She’s even better. She was suppose to race with us also this year, but, eh, she’s pregnant so she can’t. But we were going to get a car for her already. She wanted to get into drifting big time. ‘Coz the time I got into drifting, she was studying her culinary arts. Now, she has a little more time. She wants to race, but then our baby’s here. so…mommy, you rest.

I have been invited to witness this spectacular event to be held on January 16, 2010, 8pm at SM City Cebu (fronting Northwing), where eight firework manufacturing groups from all over the Philippines will converge for a pyrotechnic showdown during the PyroFest ‘10, the 2nd annual Sinulog fireworks competition. This will also feature a demo show by Pyroworks International..

PyroFest ‘10 is organized by Pyroworks International and brought to you by SM City Cebu.

I didn’t get the chance to see this competition last year, so it’s kind of something new for me. I’ve always loved fireworks displays. Something about it is just so uhmmmm… “magical?”. But seriously, it’s amazing how they put together a show like that with all those explosions and beautiful colors. I would love to learn how to do that.

This is definitely a great way to kick off my Sinulog party… See you there!
